eFront 7.5: New Learner Interface, Smarter Automations, & Deeper Integrations

2 minutes

We’re excited to announce eFront 7.5, which introduces our new learner interface, alongside enhanced automation rules and deeper LTI support.

Let’s dive into what’s new:

The new learner interface

  • Smart reminders: Quickly see courses nearing expiration, upcoming enrollments, and assigned courses you haven’t started, all at the top of your dashboard.
  • Streamlined My Training section: Access your enrolled courses, curricula, learning paths, recent activity, and skill assessments from a single My Training tab.
  • Personalized Course Catalog: Browse recommended courses tailored to your enrollments, refine results with filters, and enroll with one click.
  • Expandable navigation menu: Toggle a left‐side panel for your daily calendar, messages and discussions, plus any custom Admin extensions without leaving your page.
  • Quick profile & gamification access: Click your avatar to manage settings, or the gamification icon to view points, badges, certificates, and leaderboard rank in an interactive panel.
  • Unified filter sidebar: Use the right sidebar to control reminders, switch between grid/list views, group items, and filter by skills, tags, or categories.

Smarter automation rules

eFront 7.5 introduces three new automation options to help you manage user enrollment and access:

  • Re-enroll learners X months after completing a curriculum: Perfect for cyclical training or certification renewals.
  • Un-enroll learners X months after completing a curriculum: Automatically clean up access after a program ends.
  • Un-enroll learners X months after completing a course: Ensure users retain access only as long as needed.

These automations reduce manual tasks and ensure your learning environment stays aligned with organizational policies.

Support for LTI deep linking

We’ve expanded our interoperability toolkit with support for the LTI Deep Linking specification. This allows administrators and instructors to easily select and embed third-party content into eFront from trusted LTI providers (including LinkedIn Learning and Moodle) — streamlining content delivery and saving time.

Fixes & improvements

As always, we’ve squashed a few bugs to keep things running smoothly:

  • Improved the login experience for learners, ensuring smoother redirection when accessing content while logged out.
  • Addressed issues in report generation to ensure more accurate and reliable insights.
