Because this is how we were taught, many eLearning professionals develop their online training courses much the same way.<\/p>\n<p>This might be effective for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.efrontlearning.com\/blog\/2018\/01\/successful-online-compliance-training-checklist.html\">compliance<\/a> licensing, but it\u2019s useless when your staff is in a compromising situation. <strong>Real application in online training is the key<\/strong>. Make sure they not only know the rules, principles and theories, but that they also know how to use them. Before you can solve the problem, you need to identify it. Here are 6 barriers to the practical real-world application of lessons learned in online training.<\/p>\n<h3>1. The online training course isn\u2019t learner-centered<\/h3>\n<p>Before designing an <a href=\"https:\/\/elearningindustry.com\/elements-include-next-online-training-simulation\">online training course<\/a>, it helps to know who you\u2019re designing it for and why. What\u2019s the end result of your planning, development and implementation?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Your goals will affect the way you structure your online training course<\/strong>. Many trainers focus on \u2018sharing\u2019 their knowledge, but they don\u2019t think about how their corporate learners will use it. Put the corporate learner <a href=\"https:\/\/elearningindustry.com\/best-practices-create-learner-centered-elearning-courses\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">at the center of your online training course<\/a>. That way, <strong>you can design it in a way that makes sense to them<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>For example, listing the dangers of faulty equipment shows off your memory.
