\"\"<\/a>It\u2019s inevitable that any medium designed for ease of communication and networking will be applied to a learning context however many educators are still trying to come to grips with Twitter, and in particular its use in the classroom.<\/p>\n

There are a multitude of ways Twitter can be integrated into classroom teaching, for example:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Gather real world data \u2013 this makes learning based on up-to-date information with real people (with a real story behind it!).<\/li>\n
  2. Monitor\/ GeoTag the \u2018buzzwords\u2019<\/li>\n
  3. Summarize topics\/ view as tweets<\/li>\n
  4. Tweetstory<\/li>\n
  5. Collate classroom views<\/li>\n
  6. Let parents follow what you\u2019re up to<\/li>\n
  7. Find out where people are \u2013 giving the class an immediate set of places and distances to research.<\/li>\n
  8. Story telling in 140 characters as group or individual<\/li>\n
  9. Twitter poll<\/li>\n
  10. Word morph \u2013 using your network to search for synonyms and other meanings<\/li>\n
  11. Finding \u2018classmates\u2019 in other locations to share information, resources and ideas<\/li>\n
  12. Point of view and character development using Twitter (or \u201cTwalter egos\u201d)<\/li>\n
  13. GeoTweets<\/li>\n
  14. Global assembly<\/li>\n
  15. Word play<\/li>\n
  16. Communicate with experts<\/li>\n
  17. Monitor the learning process<\/li>\n
  18. Probability \u2013 when learning about probability and the language of chance in mathematics, use your Twitter network to offer a real world response to your questions<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
